When you create an event on MCR you will now have ONLY two check-in types:
Scan In
Self Check-In
Scan In: This is a new NAME but will utilize the same process our virtual check-in procedure had for the past two years. This is now the default option for all events, if “Self Check-In” isn’t selected for the event, Scan In will be the attendance option selected.
Leaders will have a QR code they can open on their app or place on the screen
Members will use their app to scan the QR code to check-in
If the event has guests, the Member will be prompted to scan their guest in utilizing the Guest QR code from the Leader’s App
The leader will need to swipe to reveal the guest QR code and then can swipe back
For In-Person Events: Leaders will open the QR code for the event on their app or share on a screen at the front of the room. Member's will open their app and click on the QR code icon at the top of the app or within the calendar event and scan the QR code on the screen shared by the leader. Leaders can also do a check out at the end of the event utilizing the same process.
For Virtual Events: Leaders will open the QR code for the event and share the QR code on the screen through your virtual platform. Member's will open their app and click on the QR code icon at the top of the app or within the calendar event and scan the QR code on the screen shared by the leader. Leaders can also do a check out at the end of the event utilizing the same process.
Once this update goes live all Virtual and In-Person calendar events will be switched to the updated “Scan In” option.
Self Check In: No changes to the Self Check-In process!
An event with Self Check-In has a specific geo-location attached to it and Members open the event through the MCR app when they arrive and click “check in” and before they depart they click “check out” The Members distance from the geo-location and time at check in and check out are recorded for leader. Self Check-In events are best for activities where there will not necessarily be a leader to check people in (for instance, attending another organization's philanthropy event).
Checking attendance during the event: You are still able to check attendance in the app as a leader. At the top of the event, you will see xx/xx (ex. 45/92) which if pressed, you can see who has checked in, who hasn’t checked in, and manually check them in if necessary.
Regardless of whether you use Self Check-In or Scan In, a chapter leader will need to audit and submit attendance through the MCR website after the event. This allows the leader to fix any mistakes, see if any check ins/scans recorded improperly and the points to be recorded for Members.
