What is Cache?
A cache (pronounced cash) is a reserved storage location that collects temporary data to help websites, browsers, and apps load faster.
As with most robust platforms, between making frequent updates and caching our files so that your user experience is faster, this sometimes causes blank screens, especially if you have not logged out in a while.
It is best practice to logout and clear your cache often.
This article will show you how to clear your cache from the following browsers:
- Chrome (our preferred browser)
- Internet Explorer
- Firefox
- Safari
Chrome: Clear Browsing Data
In Google Chrome, clearing the browser cache is done via the Clear browsing data area in Settings or
MAC Cmd + Shift + Delete
PC Ctrl + Shift + Delete
From there, check Advanced, Cached images and files, and then CLEAR DATA.
Internet Explorer: Delete Browsing History
In Microsoft Internet Explorer, the browser that comes pre-installed on most Windows computers, clearing the cache is done from the Delete Browsing History area. From here, check Temporary Internet files and website files and then click Delete.
Firefox: Clear Recent History
In Mozilla's Firefox browser, you clear the cache from the Clear Recent History area in the browser's Options. Once there, check Cache and then click Clear Now.
Mac Safari: Empty Caches (For Versions 10.0 and above)
In Apple's Safari browser, clearing the cache is done via the Develop menu. Click Safari in the menu at the top of the screen and click Preferences.
In the Preferences window, click the Advanced tab and make sure the checkbox next to "Show Develop menu in menu bar" is selected.
Select Develop in the menu bar on the top of the screen and click Empty Caches.
iPhone or iPad Safari: Empty Caches
Clearing the browser cache from mobile Safari, like the one on your iPad or iPhone, is accomplished in a different app. From your device, open the Settings app and then find the Safari section. In there, scroll toward the bottom and tap Advanced, then Website Data. Tap Remove all Website Data to confirm.
