You can move your Advisors/Important References to one of the following status:

  • Active Important Reference
  • Inactive Important Reference
  • Resigned Important Reference
  • House Director

To do this, follow the numbers and click on the pencil in the top right to start editing

  1. Choose your membership type (Important Reference)
  2. Type the name of the Advisor/Important Reference in the search bar
  3. Scroll to the column of the change you are looking to make and make the necessary change. Highlighted in the image below is where you would change the membership status.
  4. Click update (make sure the pop up is correct) if applicable.

Inactive Important references can be used for people who are important to your chapter but you do not need them to sign in to your MCR (such as an FSA or faculty advisor). This is also the Membership status that should be used when an important reference/advisor steps down from their role with your chapter. This ensures that they are no longer receiving email or text updates from the chapter, which might be frustrating for them once they have stepped down. If you have an important reference that doesn't have a position to assign them to within MCR; such as a Faculty Advisor, a Fraternity & Sorority Advisor etc. you can add position text within the Important References screen.

  1. Click the pencil icon to go into editing mode
  2. Change the Membership Status if necessary (Remember: If they remain an Active Important Reference they will retain admin level permissions within MCR)
  3. Scroll over and type their title/position related to your chapter
  4. If you do not want them receiving copies of group emails, make sure to un-check "Exclude from MCR auto group functions
  5. Click 'Update' and follow the prompts to save your information.

House Directors will need to be added as important references first and then immediately changed  to “House Director” status so that the appropriate permissions are given.  Note: If this step is not done, your new house director will have admin access.
